On Oct. 4, police were called to the 3000 block of N. Eighth St. in response to a shooting and found the three wounded victims laying in the street. Lassiter was pronounced dead at the scene, while Talley and English were taken to Temple University Hospital.

Talley died there shortly after his arrival. English died there two days later.

Police have not disclosed a suspected motive for the slayings, whether Pickett acted alone or what kind of weapon was used.

Philadelphia court records list Pickett as a resident of the 19138 ZIP code in the Northwest section of the city. He remains in jail. A preliminary hearing date has not been set. ••
