Pets of the Week (March 14, 2012)

Aspen (A15147966) is young happy playful girl. She was found on a cold January day tied to a home that wasn’t hers. She was definitely someone’s pet though - you can tell by her soft cream colored fur and her solid well-fed stature. Aspen LOVES people. She likes to snuggle, sit on your lap, stand between your legs or go for a walk. She is energetic and happy to be outside enjoying the fresh air -she is a terrier mix so sniffing and smelling are her specialty. Aspen is a medium sized dog who walks with enthusiasm on a leash. She loves treats but takes them very nicely. She knows “sit” and “down” and is currently hard at work expanding her repertoire. Aspen is very playful with other dogs but can be too much for some with her enthusiastic style of play. Aspen is definitely a no-cats kind of girl. She thinks they are fun, fun, fun to chase. She feels the same about birds - and when she is outside, will stalk a pigeon like a lion on the savannah. She also LOVES toys and balls. She likes to throw them in the air, chase them across the yard and chew on them until they are almost unrecognizable. She can leap 5-6 ft. off the ground and catch a ball mid-flight which is fun for her and its fun for the people watching too. Aspen will do best in an active home with a family that wants to continue her training to make her the best dog she can be.
