Suspect in ID theft at large

Phil­adelphia po­lice have re­leased a pho­to­graph of an iden­tity thief who al­legedly racked up $73,100 in un­au­thor­ized deb­it card charges on a North­east man’s bank ac­count.

The 57-year-old vic­tim re­por­ted that an un­known man gained ac­cess to his bank in­form­a­tion and ob­tained newly is­sued deb­it cards in the vic­tim’s name. Start­ing on June 11, the sus­pect used the deb­it cards to make hun­dreds of pur­chases at re­tail stores in the area, in­clud­ing Wal­mart, Tar­get, Home De­pot and Of­fice Max, as well as the U.S Postal Ser­vice.

In­vest­ig­at­ors ob­tained sur­veil­lance video of the sus­pect us­ing one of the deb­it cards. To re­port in­form­a­tion about the sus­pect, call 215-686-TIPS or send a text mes­sage to 773847. ••End­Frag­ment
