Suspected bank bandit sought by police

The FBI and Philadelphia police seek information about an unknown gunman who robbed a bank branch inside a Modena Park supermarket twice in five days.

The suspect approached a teller at Citizens Bank inside the Acme store, at Red Lion and Academy roads, last Wednesday at 9:53 a.m., pulled a handgun and demanded money, authorities said. The teller surrendered an undisclosed amount of cash to the man, who fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

On Sunday, the same man robbed the same bank in similar fashion. No injuries were reported. The suspect again fled on foot in an unknown direction.

The robber was described as white, in his late 30s or 40s and about 200 pounds with close-cut hair. In the first heist, he wore a yellow T-shirt with cutoff sleeves, dark shorts, a dark baseball cap with Eagles logo on the front and sunglasses. In the second incident, he wore a white baseball-style T-shirt with blue cutoff sleeves, shorts, a white baseball cap with Nike logo on the front and sunglasses.
