Suspected bank bandit sought by police


The FBI and Phil­adelphia po­lice seek in­form­a­tion about an un­known gun­man who robbed a bank branch in­side a Mod­ena Park su­per­mar­ket twice in five days.

The sus­pect ap­proached a tell­er at Cit­izens Bank in­side the Acme store, at Red Li­on and Academy roads, last Wed­nes­day at 9:53 a.m., pulled a hand­gun and de­man­ded money, au­thor­it­ies said. The tell­er sur­rendered an un­dis­closed amount of cash to the man, who fled on foot in an un­known dir­ec­tion.

No in­jur­ies were re­por­ted.

On Sunday, the same man robbed the same bank in sim­il­ar fash­ion. No in­jur­ies were re­por­ted. The sus­pect again fled on foot in an un­known dir­ec­tion.

The rob­ber was de­scribed as white, in his late 30s or 40s and about 200 pounds with close-cut hair. In the first heist, he wore a yel­low T-shirt with cutoff sleeves, dark shorts, a dark base­ball cap with Eagles logo on the front and sunglasses. In the second in­cid­ent, he wore a white base­ball-style T-shirt with blue cutoff sleeves, shorts, a white base­ball cap with Nike logo on the front and sunglasses.
