Shamrock Shuttle headed to Mayfair



The May­fair Busi­ness As­so­ci­ation is hop­ing the up­com­ing Sham­rock Shuttle goes on without in­cid­ent.

Lisa Greco, treas­urer of the group, at­ten­ded a re­cent meet­ing that in­cluded bar own­ers and of­fi­cials of the May­fair and Holmes­burg civic as­so­ci­ations and the May­fair Town Watch.

The bar own­ers agreed to rent 75 port­able toi­lets, but de­clined to ac­cept a re­quest that they also pay for private se­cur­ity guards. They will also free up park­ing spaces in front of their es­tab­lish­ments so the shuttles do not have to double-park.

The Shuttle will take place on Sat­urday, March 3, from 1 to 6 p.m. The cost is $10, which in­cludes a wrist­band for the shuttle and a souven­ir cup with one full beer. The cost is $20 for the wrist­band, cup, beer and T-shirt.

The fol­low­ing bars are par­ti­cip­at­ing: Casper’s Place, Cappy’s Cafe, Coach’s Bar & Grill, Fluke’s Res­taur­ant & Pub, Ham­mer­heads Bar & Grill, Har­ring­ton’s, Kil­bane’s Ir­ish Pub, Mc­Noodles Ir­ish Pub, Owen’s Cafe, Reale’s Sports Bar & Grille, Shef­field Tav­ern and Tom’s Sports­man.

May­fair Me­mori­al Play­ground, at Row­land Av­en­ue and Vista Street, will hold its second an­nu­al East­er egg hunt on Sat­urday, March 24, from noon to 2 p.m.

The event is for chil­dren up to 8 years old. The cost is $2 per child, and kids should bring their own bas­kets.

The East­er Bunny will be in at­tend­ance. There will also be a bake sale. ••
