The event was sponsored by the Mayfair Business Association. The Mayfair Community Development Corporation handed out cookies and hot chocolate, while site host Republic Bank gave away lollipops.

Santa and Mrs. Claus joined civic association presidents Joe DeFelice (Mayfair), Mary Benussi (Tacony) and Rich Frizell (Holmesburg) in lighting the tree. The Grinch even joined in the festivities.

Elected officials in attendance were City Controller Alan Butkovitz, state Rep. Kevin Boyle, City Councilman Bobby Henon and City Commissioner Al Schmidt.

Musical entertainment was provided by the St. Hubert High School choir, Nick Giannetti and Tricia and Glenn Paffen.

Avenue Chiropractic organized a collection for Toys for Tots. Also, books and DVDs were collected for Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. ••
