Fire burns Frankford house for a third time


North­east De­tect­ives, the fire mar­shal and the De­part­ment of Li­censes & In­spec­tions are look­ing in­to three fires that have oc­curred since early Ju­ly at a house on the 4700 block of Leiper St. in Frank­ford, Ex­ec­ut­ive Fire Chief Richard Dav­is­on said.

The latest fire oc­curred on Aug. 15, Dav­is­on said. Fire­fight­ers were called to the ad­dress at 1:17 a.m. and ar­rived at 1:20 a.m. and soon had a blaze on the first floor un­der con­trol. No one was in­jured.

Sim­il­arly, no one was hurt dur­ing fires at the same prop­erty on Ju­ly 7 and Ju­ly 15. The fires’ causes are be­ing in­vest­ig­ated.

The three-story build­ing is a mul­ti­fam­ily dwell­ing, ac­cord­ing to the city’s on­line prop­erty re­cords. Prop­erty taxes have not been paid in 2010, 2011 or 2012, ac­cord­ing to the city Rev­en­ue De­part­ment’s on­line re­cords. There are two li­ens on the build­ing, and more than $5,600 is owed in de­lin­quent taxes, in­terest and pen­al­ties, the re­cords show.••
