It’s happened again: More tire slashings

Tires were slashed on at least 10 more cars in the Mayfair/Holmesburg area early on Monday.

Unknown vandals struck again in the area of Erdrick and Teesdale streets during the overnight hours, said Lt. Mark Burgmann of Northeast Detectives. Victims reported the damage to police shortly after 5 a.m.

Affected vehicles were parked on the 7300 block of Erdrick St. and the 4000 and 4200 blocks of Teesdale streets, Burgmann said.

Several other auto vandalism incidents have occurred in the same immediate area in recent months.

On Feb. 13, tires were slashed on at least seven cars on the 4000 block of Aldine St. On Feb. 19, at least 18 cars were damaged on the 4000 blocks of Aldine and Teesdale streets. On Feb. 22, two cars on the 7300 block of Erdrick St. were vandalized.

Vandals struck on the 4000 blocks of Aldine and Teesdale streets again on March 12 as five cars were damaged.

Similar cases have been reported elsewhere in the Northeast and other sections of the city.
