Tacony hit-and-run suspect still at large


A hit-and-run driver re­mains at-large after strik­ing a bi­cyc­list on a Ta­cony Street on April 3, in­jur­ing the 17-year-old vic­tim crit­ic­ally.

Po­lice have not re­leased a de­scrip­tion of the mo­tor­ist or the vehicle. The cyc­list was cross­ing the 4500 block of Tyson Ave. in a north­bound dir­ec­tion at 10:17 p.m. when the east­bound vehicle struck him, said Of­ficer Jill­ian Rus­sell, a Phil­adelphia po­lice spokes­wo­man.

The car, de­scribed only as dark in col­or with tin­ted win­dows, did not re­main at the scene.

The vic­tim was taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale and was lis­ted in crit­ic­al con­di­tion on Tues­day.

One pub­lished re­port, cit­ing an un­dis­closed po­lice source, stated that a wit­ness saw the vic­tim tex­ting. Call the ac­ci­dent in­vest­ig­a­tion di­vi­sion at 215-685-3180 to re­port in­form­a­tion about the crash. ••
