Cops want man for questioning in shooting

Phil­adelphia po­lice are search­ing for a man nick­named “Smurf” in con­nec­tion with the shoot­ing of a man Fri­day night in Up­per Holmes­burg.

The gun­fire erup­ted just after 8 p.m. on the 8100 block of Dit­man St. Po­lice who ar­rived at the scene found a 20-year-old man with wounds of the leg and stom­ach. He was taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale in crit­ic­al con­di­tion.

Po­lice have not re­leased the man’s iden­tity be­cause he sur­vived the shoot­ing. His cur­rent con­di­tion is not known.

The sus­pect fled the scene be­fore po­lice ar­rived. He is de­scribed as a His­pan­ic man of un­known age who wore a long-sleeve black shirt and is known as “Smurf.” Call North­east De­tect­ives at 215-686-3153 to re­port in­form­a­tion about the case. ••
