3 suspects sought in man’s slaying

Phil­adelphia po­lice are try­ing to identi­fy three men in­volved in the fatal shoot­ing of a Wissi­nom­ing man on Aug. 30.

De­tect­ives be­lieve the men tar­geted the vic­tim, Joel Hende­r­son, 28, of the 5000 block of Homestead St., for un­dis­closed reas­ons.

The gun­fire erup­ted at 9:12 p.m. at Comly and Mil­nor streets, about a block from Hende­r­son’s res­id­ence.

Po­lice found the vic­tim ly­ing in the street with sev­er­al wounds. He was taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale and pro­nounced dead at 10:04 p.m.

Wit­nesses told po­lice that the shoot­er and two oth­er men fled the scene in a sil­ver Nis­san sedan. No fur­ther de­scrip­tions were avail­able.

Hende­r­son has had a his­tory of drug-re­lated run-ins with Phil­adelphia po­lice. He was ar­res­ted at least six times on drug dis­tri­bu­tion or pos­ses­sion charges from Janu­ary 2001 through last Decem­ber and was con­victed and sen­tenced to pris­on in two cases. ••
