Civic groups are getting back to business

Labor Day is past and that means many civic as­so­ci­ations throughout the North­east will re­sume their gen­er­al meet­ing sched­ules. The meet­ings are free and open to the pub­lic.

The East Tor­res­dale Civic As­so­ci­ation will re­con­vene on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., at Liberty Evan­gel­ic­al Free Church, Linden Av­en­ue and Mil­nor Street.

On Tues­day, Sept. 13, the Somer­ton Civic As­so­ci­ation will meet at Walk­er Lodge 306, 1290 Southamp­ton Road, at 7:30 p.m. Also that night, the Holmes­burg Civic As­so­ci­ation has sched­uled a meet­ing for 7:15 p.m. at Holmes­burg Com­munity Cen­ter, Rhawn and Dit­man streets.

The re­or­gan­ized Wissi­nom­ing Civic As­so­ci­ation has sched­uled a Wed­nes­day, Sept. 14, meet­ing at 5808 Tor­res­dale Ave. at 7 p.m. On the same night, the Fox Chase Homeown­ers As­so­ci­ation and Fox Chase Town Watch will hold their joint bi-monthly meet­ing at Cpl. John Loudensla­ger Amer­ic­an Le­gion Post 366, 7976 Ox­ford Ave., at 7:30 p.m.

On Thursday, Sept. 15, the Up­per Holmes­burg Civic As­so­ci­ation will meet at St. Domin­ic’s Mari­an Hall, 8532 Frank­ford Ave. ••
