Van crashes into Somerton Walgreens

Two people were hospitalized after a van smashed into the doorway of a Somerton Walgreens store on Sunday.

The crash occurred just before 11:30 a.m. on the northwest corner of Bustleton Avenue and Red Lion Road. According to published news reports, the van was traveling in reverse in the pharmacy parking lot when it collided with a parked car, then the entrance to the store.

The van struck a 24-year-old woman who was standing in the doorway. She was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale in stable condition with unspecified injuries.

A passenger in the van reportedly was taken to Nazareth Hospital with unknown injuries.

The identities of the victims and of the van operator were not released. No criminal charges have been filed. ••
