Van crashes into Somerton Walgreens

Two people were hos­pit­al­ized after a van smashed in­to the door­way of a Somer­ton Wal­greens store on Sunday.

The crash oc­curred just be­fore 11:30 a.m. on the north­w­est corner of Bustleton Av­en­ue and Red Li­on Road. Ac­cord­ing to pub­lished news re­ports, the van was trav­el­ing in re­verse in the phar­macy park­ing lot when it col­lided with a parked car, then the en­trance to the store.

The van struck a 24-year-old wo­man who was stand­ing in the door­way. She was taken to Aria Health-Tor­res­dale in stable con­di­tion with un­spe­cified in­jur­ies.

A pas­sen­ger in the van re­portedly was taken to Naz­areth Hos­pit­al with un­known in­jur­ies.

The iden­tit­ies of the vic­tims and of the van op­er­at­or were not re­leased. No crim­in­al charges have been filed. ••
