FREE HEALTH SCREEN­INGS

The Ar­ab Amer­ic­an CDC is hold­ing a health fair on Nov. 4 from 12-4 p.m. at the Al-Aqsa Is­lam­ic So­ci­ety (1501 Ger­man­town Ave.) in col­lab­or­a­tion with Jef­fer­son med­ic­al stu­dents and Vil­lan­ova nurs­ing stu­dents. Free health screen­ings, flu shots and breast health ex­ams will be provided.••

FISHTOWN AC­TION MEET­ING

Please plan to at­tend this very im­port­ant meet­ing Mon. Nov. 7 at 7 p.m., Holy Name Church Hall, Gaul and Berks streets.  Guest speak­ers in­clude Joe Mar­tin from Sug­ar­House Casino to dis­cuss do­ing busi­ness with Sug­ar­House and Mari­an Hull from PennDot. Hull will dis­cuss sound bar­ri­ers for I-95.  If you live on the river­side please plan to at­tend this meet­ing as your in­put is needed.••

ST. LAUREN­TI­US FEST

St. Lauren­ti­us Par­ish an­nounces its an­nu­al Hol­i­day Fest­iv­al to be held in the church hall on Sat., Nov. 5 from 2-7 p.m.  En­joy homemade Pol­ish food and try your luck at games of chance.  Bring your fam­ily, re­new ac­quaint­ances and get a jump start on your hol­i­day spir­it. 1608 E. DOG DAY IN THE PARK

Penn Treaty Park, Delaware and Columbia av­en­ues, will host Dog Day in the Park Sat. Nov. 5 from 10-12. Raind­ate Nov. 12.

LOVE YOUR PARK

Help fin­ish paint­ing the fence at Han­cock Rec, the fin­ish­ing touch needed to com­pli­ment the mur­al, benches and plant­ings re­cently com­pleted by the Mur­al Arts Pro­gram. Vo­lun­teers will work Sat., Nov. 5, from 10-1. Han­cock Park and Re­cre­ation Cen­ter, Mas­ter and Han­cock streets.

BRIDES­BURG HIS­TOR­IC MEETS

The next meet­ing of the Brides­burg His­tor­ic­al So­ci­ety will be held on Weds., Nov. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in All Saints’ Mari­an Hall at the corner of Ed­ge­mont and Bucki­us streets.
