Two suspects sought in Wawa carjacking

Police are looking for a man and a woman who wanted a ride badly enough to steal one.

Two men were sitting in their car in the parking lot at a Castor Avenue Wawa store at 4:49 a.m. Sunday when a man approached them from the driver’s side and demanded a ride while a woman stood nearby.

When the men in the car refused, the other man pulled out a handgun and pointed it at them while demanding their money, jewelry, phones and a jacket. The armed man and the woman then fled in the victims’ 1996 dark blue Toyota Corolla north on the 4500 block of Castor.

Police have released store surveillance photos of the man and woman.

Police said the armed man was Hispanic and 25 to 27 years old. He stood 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall and weighed 200 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweat shirt with white writing as well as gray or black sweat pants.

The woman who was with him was Hispanic and 25 years old. She weighed 115 pounds and was wearing a dark gray jacket and blue jeans.

The stolen car had tinted windows.

Police are asking anyone who has any information about this crime to call 911, call 215–686-TIPS (8477) or Detective Hughes at Northeast Detectives, 215–686–3153 or 54. ••
