City offices to observe July 4 holiday

All City of Phil­adelphia of­fices will be open and city ser­vices will be op­er­at­ing on Fri­day, Ju­ly 1. 

In­de­pend­ence Day will be ob­served on Monday, Ju­ly 4 — an of­fi­cial hol­i­day. City of­fices will be closed and city ser­vices cur­tailed. Trash and re­cyc­lables will not be col­lec­ted. 

Streets Com­mis­sion­er Clar­ena Tolson urges res­id­ents whose nor­mal col­lec­tion is on Monday, Ju­ly 4, to set out their rub­bish and re­cyc­lables for col­lec­tion on Tues­day, Ju­ly 5. Trash and re­cyc­ling col­lec­tions will be one day be­hind for the re­mainder of the week. 

All city dis­trict health cen­ters are closed on Monday, Ju­ly 4, as are all branch of­fices of the De­part­ment of Li­censes and In­spec­tions; the North and North­east Mu­ni­cip­al Ser­vice Cen­ters; the Mar­riage Li­cense Bur­eau; all De­part­ment of Re­cre­ation fa­cil­it­ies; the Free Lib­rary of Phil­adelphia and all of its branches; and the ex­ec­ut­ive of­fices of the Phil­adelphia Park­ing Au­thor­ity, as well as its vi­ol­a­tions branch, at Ninth and Fil­bert streets. The city’s 311 Con­tact Cen­ter also will be closed. ••
