Police ID intruders killed by homeowner

Police have identified the two men who were shot to death after they broke into a Frankford home the night before Thanksgiving.

Killed on the 5200 block of Burton St. on Nov. 24 were Rashawn Rozier, 20, and Isaih Adams, 22, said Sgt. Frank Hayes of the police department’s homicide unit.

Both men were pronounced dead at the house, which is little more than a half-block from Harbison Avenue. Hayes said a handgun was found on the scene.

Police had said soon after the incident that the same home had been hit by robbers on Nov. 6. On Nov. 24, however, the resident was armed with a shotgun. He used it to shoot down the intruders, who had broken in through a kitchen window, police said in late November.

No one else was wounded, Hayes said Saturday.

Earlier reports of the shooting had included information that two other young men had been wounded and had taken themselves to area hospitals.

Police had said they were not certain if the wounded men had been with the intruders, but Hayes said those men were involved in other shootings in the Northeast and had nothing to do with the deaths on Burton Street.

The sergeant said a report on the incident has been referred to the district attorney’s office. ••
