Suspect sought in Bustleton slaying

The vic­tim was shot to death. Po­lice dis­covered his body in a car on Tremont Street.

Phil­adelphia hom­icide de­tect­ives are in­vest­ig­at­ing the shoot­ing death of a man in­side a car in Bustleton on Tues­day.

As the Times went to press, po­lice had iden­ti­fied the vic­tim only as a man about 25 to 30 years of age.

Of­ficers ar­rived at the 2300 block of Tremont St., out­side the Plaza Tower Apart­ments, at 6:44 a.m., when they found the vic­tim sit­ting in­side a black BMW con­vert­ible coupe. He had gun­shot wounds of the neck and chest and was pro­nounced dead at the scene with­in minutes, said Of­ficer Christine O’Bri­en, a po­lice spokes­wo­man.

The sus­pect was de­scribed as a black male in his mid-20s and stand­ing about 5-feet-8-inches tall. He wore a red hood­ie sweat­shirt and khaki pants. He may have fled in a teal-colored vehicle.
