Ex-Judge teacher
accused of abuse
The Oblates of St. Francis de Sales notified the Archdiocese of Philadelphia on Monday of allegations of sexual abuse against a former teacher at Father Judge High School.
The alleged incidents involving the Rev. Dennis Killion occurred about 20 years ago when he taught at Salesianum School in Delaware.
Killion served as a member of the Judge faculty between 1991 and 2006. He served as assistant principal at Archbishop Wood Boys High School from 1986 to 90. He was about to begin his assignment at St. Bede the Venerable parish in Holland this month.
Approval for that assignment was withdrawn, and Killion has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
In a written statement, the archdiocese stated that Killion had completed archdiocesan screening procedures including police and child abuse background checks and received a positive recommendation from the Oblates. The archdiocese itself has not received any allegations regarding Killion.
