Bank robber sought
The FBI believes that the man who robbed a local Citizens Bank branch on Friday is responsible for six other heists since February.
The man robbed the Citizens Bank at 2401 Cottman Ave at 11:04 a.m. He approached the counter and presented the teller with a demand note that indicated he had a gun.
After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, he fled. There were no injuries.
The suspect is described as possibly a biracial man in his mid-30s, about 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a light complexion and a thin build.
He has dark hair and eyes and was clean-shaven.
He wore a beige baseball cap, a yellow long sleeve shirt and long blue jeans shorts.
The FBI thinks the man started his crime spree with a Feb. 26 heist at the Freedom Credit Union at 4900 Princeton Ave. in Tacony.
Hes also suspected in three other bank robberies in Chestnut Hill and one each in Center City and Roxborough.
The last four robberies took place from June 6 through 13. In three of them, the suspect wore the same clothing.
Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
