Suspect in Mayfair rape
still on the loose

A heavyset man who physically overpowered and indecently assaulted a 22-year-old woman on a Mayfair street late last month remains at large.
Philadelphia police on Monday released a composite sketch of the suspect, described as black, 6 feet 3 or 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 300 to 320 pounds. He has a medium complexion and short black hair and wore a white T-shirt and basketball shorts at the time of the attack.
The crime occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on May 30 on the 2800 block of Rawle St. when the suspect approached the woman from behind, knocked her to the ground and indecently assaulted her before fleeing, police said.
