Man found dead
in Pennypack Park
A Juniata Park man died after falling down a steep embankment in Pennypack Park on June 1.
Police do not suspect foul play in the death of 40-year-old Theodore Dementri, of the 1600 block of E. Lewis St., although a final ruling on the cause and method of death will not be made until the results of a medical examination of the body are obtained, said Lt. Mark Burgmann of Northeast Detectives.
Police were called to the 8500 block of Roosevelt Blvd. at about 10 a.m. after park users discovered the unresponsive man face down in a wooded area at the bottom of the embankment.
Dementri had severe head injuries. City paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene at 10:25 a.m.
