Suspect charged
in bank robberies

A suspect has been indicted in connection with four bank robberies, including three in the Northeast, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said last week.
The suspect is Eric Williams, 29.
He is charged with robbing the Sun East Federal Credit Union, at 9212 Frankford Ave., on Sept. 11 and Dec. 26 last year; the Earthstar Bank, at 8910 Frankford Ave, on Jan. 3; and a Citizens Bank branch on Street Road in Bensalem on Jan. 11.
In the Sun East robberies, Williams allegedly stole $20,651 in the September heist and $9,621 in the December robbery.
Authorities said he made off with $3,068 from Earthstar and $10,042 from Citizens Bank.
In each case, he used a handgun, they said.
If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence of 100 years in prison, five years of supervised release and a $1 million fine.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anthony Wzorek. ••
