Killer on the loose

As Philadelphia mourned the shooting death of police Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski this week, local and federal investigators in at least two states continued their manhunt for one of three suspected bank robbers allegedly responsible for the Saturday morning slaying on a Port Richmond street corner.
And city leaders demanded that 33-year-old Eric Deshann Floyd surrender peaceably.
"Let me say it clearly and directly: Eric Floyd, turn yourself in," Mayor Michael Nutter said . . . .

Remembering a fallen hero

At the intersection of Almond and Schiller streets, amid the memorial of photos and candles and mementos that paid tribute to his policeman brother, Floyd Liczbinski wiped his eyes, understandably distraught, but he wanted to tell the people of Port Richmond something.
"I want to thank everyone who came to his aid," said Floyd, appreciative of residents’ efforts on Saturday to try to save the life of his brother, Sgt. Stephen Liczbinski. . . . .

Grown men breaking into tears in the midst of being interviewed following the execution of yet another police officer. Tears dripping from the stunned faces . . .
