Suspects arrested in mugging
of elderly woman in market

Witnesses last week helped police capture three robbery suspects who allegedly mugged an 84-year-old woman inside a Pennypack Circle supermarket.
The men, one from North Philadelphia and two twin brothers from West Philadelphia, allegedly knocked the senior shopper to the floor shortly before noon on Thursday in the Acme at 8200 Roosevelt Blvd. The men then grabbed the victim’s purse and fled the store, according to Lt. Mark Burgmann of Northeast Detectives.
Other store patrons took note of the license plate on the suspected getaway vehicle and supplied the information to police, who linked the tag to a man living on the 4500 block of N. 19th St.
Police went to the home and detained a resident, 42-year-old Ronald Sharp, for questioning, along with two other men, Kevin Richardson and Keith Richardson, both 20, of the 5800 block of Addison St. The three later were identified as the alleged robbers and arrested.
The woman suffered minor injuries in the attack. Her valuables were not recovered.
The three suspects were charged with robbery, aggravated assault, theft, conspiracy, reckless endangerment and related offenses. ••
