Police hunt for suspect
in Tacony home invasion

One juvenile suspect is in custody while a second unknown assailant remains at large following a home invasion and armed robbery early Saturday in Tacony.
A 29-year-old woman reported to police that two males knocked on her apartment door at about 4:15 a.m. When she opened the door, the suspects allegedly produced a gun and forced their way inside.
The males ordered the woman and her roommate to the floor and demanded money from them. The suspects made off with $130 cash, jewelry and three cell phones, police said. The victims called 911.
A short time later, police officers from the 15th district spotted two males fitting the description of the suspects riding in a black 2001 Oldsmobile in the area of the crime scene. The officers pursued the vehicle to the 2500 block of Tilton St., where the males ditched the car and fled on foot.
Officers from the 26th district caught one of the suspects a short distance from the car. He was identified as a 16-year-old Hispanic male. His name and mug shot were not released publicly because of his age. He was charged with robbery, burglary, theft, reckless endangerment, assault and weapons offenses.
The second suspect was white, 6 feet 1 inch tall and thin. He eluded police and remains at large. Call Northeast Detectives at 215-686-3153 to report information about the crime. ••
