Police looking
for store robber

Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a Northeast gas station and convenience store clerk at gunpoint on Feb. 13.
Shortly after 5 p.m., the suspect entered the store on the 2200 block of Cottman Ave. and asked the clerk for assistance in using an outdoor pay phone. The man claimed he was from Africa and did not know how to dial a country code.
When the clerk followed the man outside, the suspect pointed a black handgun at his head and demanded money.
The suspect fled on foot with about $100 cash. He is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds. He has a dark complexion and was wearing a collared shirt and necktie, a dark blue or black jacket and a black ski cap. He speaks with a thick accent that the clerk believes was African.
