For arrests, its kudos
for the dynamic duo
The 8th Police District Advisory Council last week honored officers Andy Jericho and Mark Mazzoni as Officers of the Month for January.
Jericho and Mazzoni foiled a burglary at an Upper Holmesburg construction site on Jan. 30.
At about 5:30 p.m., the officers were on patrol in the 8800 block of Frankford Ave. when they saw two men exiting a gray trailer located inside of a fenced-in job site. The suspects allegedly were loading scaffolding into the bed of a truck.
During an investigation of the men, Jericho and Mazzoni saw two ladders and a power washer also in the truck, along with a two-foot section of chain that had been cut and a padlock.
The officers then found bolt cutters and a cut padlock lying on the ground next to the trailer.
After contacting the contractor by telephone, the officers arrested the suspects on charges of conspiracy, burglary, criminal trespass, theft and related offenses.
In a span of two weeks, Jericho and Mazzoni compiled five arrests, 75 pedestrian investigations, 32 vehicle investigations, 39 moving violations and three Live Stop investigations.
