update meetings

Some local civic associations are setting their agendas for meetings in March.
The Burholme Community Town Watch and Civic Association will meet on Thursday, March 13, at 7 p.m. at United Methodist Church of the Redeemer, at Cottman and Lawndale avenues. The speaker will be Diana Barton, representing St. John Neumann Nursing Home, who will discuss senior-citizen issues.
The Northwood Civic Association will meet on Tuesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, at Castor Avenue and Pratt Street. The guests will be Deputy City Managing Director Tom Conway, who oversees the Community Life Improvement Program (CLIP), and Nancy Doerr, a volunteer with the curfew center at Frankford Group Ministry.
The Lawncrest Community Association will also meet on March 18 at 7 p.m. at St. William parish hall, at Argyle and Robbins streets.
The group will discuss a plan by Cardone Industries Inc., which remanufactures automotive products, to build a health center for employees on its campus at 5600 Tabor Road, near Allengrove Street. The center would be staffed by a doctor and nurse practitioner from Holy Redeemer Health System.
The Greater Bustleton Civic League will meet on Wednesday, March 26, at 7:30 p.m. at American Heritage Federal Credit Union, at 2060 Red Lion Road. More information is available by calling the group’s hot line at 215-676-6890. ••
