The Northeast Times provides an overview of crimes reported to the four police districts in the Northeast. The details are based on reports compiled by the Northeast Detectives division of the Philadelphia Police Department.
Feb. 4 through 17
As reported by Northeast Detectives. Does not include homicides or sexual assaults. All locations listed by block.
2nd Police District
o Seven highway robberies were reported at the following locations: 7600 Roosevelt Blvd. and 1000 Cottman Ave. (Feb. 4); 6400 Martins Mill Road (Feb. 6); 6500 Summerdale Ave. and 1400 Devereaux Ave. (Feb. 8); and 4600 Roosevelt Blvd. and 1700 Tyson Ave. (Feb. 9).
o There were reports of a commercial robbery at 7300 Bustleton Ave. (Feb. 6) and a residential robbery at 6200 Algon Ave. (Feb. 8).
o Five aggravated assaults were reported. Two occurred in residences at 700 Garland St. and 1600 Borbeck Ave. (Feb. 10). Two occurred on the highway at 1100 Devereaux Ave. (Feb. 4) and 800 Sanger St. (Feb. 10). One occurred in a public school at 1100 Comly St. (Feb. 6).
o Seventeen burglaries were reported at the following locations: 6300 Oakland St., 900 Glenview St. and 7700 Tabor Ave. (Feb. 4); 2300 Shelmire Ave. (Feb. 5); 1600 Faunce St. and 7300 Tabor Ave. (Feb. 8); 1000 Alcott St., 600 Mayfair St., 800 Marcella St., 1600 Cottman Ave. and 7300 Lawndale Ave. (Feb. 11); 6200 Oxford Ave. (Feb. 14); 5800 Loretto Ave. No. 1, 7900 Castor Ave. and 5800 Loretto Ave. No. 2 (Feb. 15); 6400 Argyle St. (Feb. 16) and 7900 Oxford Ave. (Feb. 17).
o There were reports of 22 retail thefts, six residential thefts, six highway thefts, 13 thefts from vehicles and 20 vehicle thefts during the period.
7th Police District
o Four aggravated assaults were reported. One occurred in a residence at 800 Larkspur St. (Feb. 10), while three occurred on the highway at 1900 Goodnaw St. (Feb. 5), 10000 Jeanes St. (Feb. 6) and again at 10000 Jeanes St. (Feb. 8).
o Twenty-one residential burglaries were reported at the following locations: 100 Delia Lane, 9900 Haldeman Ave. and again at 9900 Haldeman Ave (Feb. 4); 13500 Bustleton Ave. (Feb. 6); 15100 Endicott St. and 2100 Rhawn St. (Feb. 7); 800 Welsh Road, 9900 Haldeman Ave. and 2200 Benson St. (Feb. 8); 1800 Fox Chase Road (twice on Feb. 10); 1100 Napier St., 100 Lockart Plaza, 200 Erica St. (twice) and 10600 Lockart Road (Feb. 12); 600 Maple Ave. and 200 Alnus St. (Feb. 13); and 2200 Benson St. and 9900 Northeast Ave. (Feb. 15).
o One commercial burglary was reported at 9900 Bustleton Ave. on Feb. 16.
o There were four thefts on the highway, one residential theft, one retail theft, 19 thefts from vehicles and three vehicle thefts reported during the period.
8th Police District
o Three highway robberies were reported at 2600 Welsh Road (Feb. 4), 2600 Tremont St. (Feb. 6) and 1000 Franklin Mills Circle (Feb. 8).
o There were two residential robberies at 12500 Deer Run (Feb. 8) and 8200 Craig St. (Feb. 9), along with two commercial robberies at 1600 Franklin Mills Circle and on Pennypack Path (both on Feb. 7).
o Five aggravated assaults were reported including two on the highway at 2400 Grant Ave. (Feb. 4) and 9100 Academy Road (Feb. 6); two at a shopping center at 8900 Frankford Ave. (both on Feb. 7); and one in a Philadelphia prison at 8100 State Road (Feb. 5).
o Thirteen burglaries were reported including 12 residential at 10800 Knights Road (Feb. 4); 3100 Stamford St. (Feb. 6); 3000 Tremont St. (Feb. 7); 12400 Rambler Road (Feb. 9); 12300 Wyndom Road and 9400 Fairgreen Lane (Feb. 10); 10900 Kipling Lane (Feb. 11); 10900 Kipling Lane again and 8000 Rowland Ave. (Feb. 12); 4300 Deerpath Lane (Feb. 13); 4600 Millett St. (Feb. 15); and 8700 Ditman St. (Feb. 16). There was one commercial burglary at 2700 Commerce Way (Feb. 9).
o There were 12 retail thefts, 15 thefts from vehicles, two thefts on the highway, 10 thefts from homes or other buildings and four vehicle thefts reported during the period.
15th Police District
o Nine highway robberies were reported at the following locations: 7400 Frankford Ave. (Feb. 5); Marsden St. and Margaret St. (no blocks listed), both on Feb. 6; 3100 Cottman Ave. (Feb. 7); 4600 Longshore Ave., 1300 Harrison St. and 4400 Richmond St. (Feb. 8); and 2000 Orthodox St. and 5800 Akron St. (Feb. 10).
o Two commercial robberies were reported at 5000 Jackson St. (Feb. 4) and 5900 Torresdale Ave. (Feb. 7).
o There was one residential robbery reported at 4600 Tackawanna St. on Feb. 10.
o Six aggravated assaults were reported inside private residences. They occurred at 6200 Gillespie St. and 1600 Bridge St. (Feb. 4); 4400 Wingohocking St. (Feb. 5); 5000 Duffield St. (Feb. 6); and 5000 N. Penn St. (Feb. 8).
o Five aggravated assaults were reported on the highway at 2900 Cottman Ave. (Feb. 7); 4300 Elizabeth St. (Feb. 8); 2000 Granite St. (Feb. 9); and 4600 N. Penn St. and 2000 McKinley St. (Feb. 10).
o There were 19 residential burglaries reported at the following locations: 2100 Betts St. and 2100 Sanger St. (Feb. 4); 5100 Saul St. and 4700 Sheffield Ave. (Feb. 5); 4600 N. Penn St. (Feb. 6); 4500 Leiper St. (Feb. 7); 1400 Deal St. (Feb. 9); 1500 Adams Ave. and 3300 Ashdale St. (Feb. 10); 6100 Algard St. (Feb. 11); 4300 Devereaux Ave. and 4700 Vista St. (Feb. 12); 4400 Benner St. and 6500 Vandike St. (Feb. 13); 5100 Duffield St. (Feb. 14); 4600 Lansing St. and 3000 Tyson Ave. (Feb. 15); 3300 Disston St. and 5900 Hegerman St. (Feb. 16).
o Twenty-two vehicle thefts, 16 thefts from vehicles, 24 thefts on the highway, 11 thefts inside homes or other buildings and four retail thefts were reported during the period.
