Man shot to death
at apartment complex

Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting that took place Saturday at an apartment complex at 7400 Roosevelt Blvd.
According to police, officers responded to the scene about 4:15 p.m. They found a man later identified as Ismael Valentin, 23, of the 6600 block of Glenloch St. in Tacony, lying on the sidewalk.
Valentin, who had been shot three times in the upper chest, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The unidentified apartment complex manager identified himself to police as the shooter. He indicated that Valentin had assaulted him in the past and that he was peddling drugs.
The manager explained that the two met in a hallway and that he shot Valentin after the victim produced what he described as a simulated weapon. The item turned out to be a pen. Police say they also recovered narcotics on Valentin, who stumbled out the door onto the sidewalk.
The shooter has not been charged. The investigation continues. ••
