Medical clinic ordered
to close indefinitely

A Mayfair medical clinic targeted by armed robbers on Jan. 29 has also been the target of ongoing local and federal narcotics investigations. Last week, the city ordered the business shut down indefinitely.
Officials from the Department of Licenses and Inspections closed the McKinney Medical Center, on the 7500 block of Frankford Ave., on Feb. 5 citing public-nuisance violations. L&I officials say that police notified them of the ongoing criminal investigation of activities at the site.
The business reportedly is under investigation by narcotics units of the Philadelphia police, as well as the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, regarding distribution of prescription medication.
Among the clinic’s specialties are weight loss and physical therapy.
The clinic previously made news in the aftermath of a Jan. 29 heist in which at least two gunmen allegedly forced their way inside the place, struck a physician and made off with about $5,000, police said.
Police had not made any arrests or named any suspects in the robbery as the Times went to press. ••
