House purchase ends up
a costly deal for victim

Philadelphia police are trying to solve an armed robbery that they say resulted from the victim’s attempt to buy a house.
Two bandits made off with about $25,000 cash after sticking up the 44-year-old male victim outside of a PNC Bank branch at 2401 Welsh Road on Oct. 19, according to Northeast Detectives.
The victim reported to police that he had first met the suspects weeks prior to the crime at a real estate auction. The victim agreed to buy a house from the men.
On the day of the crime, the suspects escorted the victim to a series of area banks to withdraw cash for the purchase, the victim claimed.
After leaving the PNC, one of the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the victim’s head and demanded the money. The two suspects then fled on foot.
The first male is white, about 45 years old and 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build. He wore a light blue buttoned-down shirt with vertical stripes and glasses.
The second male is white with an olive complexion, about 45 years old and has a stocky build. He wore a dark blue baseball cap and carried a black handgun.
