Fatal shooting claims
one life in Frankford

Street-corner gun violence claimed the life of a Frankford man early Sunday.
Philadelphia police responded to the 1600 block of Brill St. at 4:46 a.m. after receiving a 911 report of a person with a gun, a department spokeswoman said. Officers found David Howarth, 32, of the 5100 block of Penn St., lying in the street with a single gunshot wound of the chest.
Fire medics took Howarth to Frankford Hospital-Torresdale, where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 a.m.
