JEVS cites Greene
for inspiration

Jewish Education and Vocational Services honored Orleans Technical Institute graduate Laura Greene with an Inspiration Award on Nov. 1.
Greene, 24, who is paralyzed from spina bifida, completed Orleans’ court reporting program.
She now works as a CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) reporter helping deaf or hard-of-hearing students to college classes. Greene transcribes lectures and discussions by using a steno machine linked to the student’s laptop.
"I like doing CART because someone is really depending on me, and that’s the incentive to do the job well," Greene said. ••
