opens next week

The Northeast’s newest curfew center will open on Friday, Nov. 23.
The center, located at Max Myers Playground, 1601 Hellerman St., will serve the 2nd, 7th and 8th police districts.
Children in those areas caught outside after curfew will be transported to the facility to await retrieval by their parents.
Another curfew center serves the 15th Police District at Frankford Group Ministry on Griscom Street.
The Philadelphia Anti-Drug/Anti-Violence Network is currently screening applicants for several positions at the center.
Those interested in applying should call 215-940-0550. Volunteers are also needed.
An official ribbon-cutting ceremony, to be attended by Mayor John Street and other officials, will take place at Max Myers on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 4:30 p.m. ••
