A note from
the publisher
I wanted to apologize on behalf of the entire staff at the Northeast Times to those we may have upset or offended by choice of photo in the Oct. 11 story A Sorrowful Day. The piece recounted the heinous robbery that took the lives of Loomis guards Joseph Alullo and William Widmaier.
Decisions on how to approach sensitive issues are never easy. We do our best to make the appropriate judgment call weighing all relevant data as well as considering the impact of our words and photos on our community of loyal readers. The community outcry on this piece tells me that we made the wrong call.
Our hearts go out to the families involved who suffered a terrible loss.
You have my commitment that we will continue to work to deliver high-quality journalism while covering those issues important and meaningful to the Northeast and surrounding communities.
