McNally picnic
slated for Saturday

The public is invited to the Thomas McNally Memorial Picnic and Softball Tournament on Saturday at Burholme Park, Cottman and Central avenues.
A 10-team softball tournament will begin at 10 a.m., and a horseshoes competition starts at 1 p.m.
Admission is free, and visitors are asked to bring beach chairs. They will be able to buy T-shirts, food, drinks and raffle tickets.
Proceeds benefit a scholarship fund in McNally’s memory. The three winners will be presented with their scholarships at 3:30 p.m.
McNally, 48, was a Cardinal Dougherty High School graduate and resident of the 3200 block of Wellington St. in West Mayfair. He was killed in an accident while riding his bicycle at Rowland and Tyson avenues in September 2005. He worked as communications director for the city Department of Commerce.
