Suspect sought
in hit-and-run

Two boys remained hospitalized on Monday one day after being struck along Torresdale Avenue by a hit-and-run motorist.
Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, 6-year-old Tychi Spain-McCaliley and 14-year-old Reginald Brown were attempting to cross the 4900 block of Torresdale Ave. on foot, said Sgt. George Golden of the Philadelphia Police Department’s accident investigation division.
A northbound car struck both boys, Golden said. The impact occurred in the street’s bicycle lane, according to a police spokeswoman.
The driver of the vehicle stopped to look at the injured children, then continued northbound from the Wakeling Street intersection, Golden said.
Both youths were taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children. Tychi, of the 900 block of E. Tioga St., remained in critical condition on Monday with undisclosed injuries.
Reginald, of the 2000 block of Margaret St., remained in good condition, reportedly with a broken arm.
The suspect’s car was described as a light blue, bluish-green or teal 1991 Honda Civic four-door, with a square-shaped rear. The car may have damage to the front passenger side. The Pennsylvania license tag is GLV-5477.
The driver was a white or Hispanic man, age 18 to 22, with a light complexion and hair on his chin, Golden said.
