Murphy visits
Community College campus

U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy last week toured the Northeast Regional Center of Community College of Philadelphia, which will use federal funding to expand.
Murphy (D-8th dist.) and Rep. Allyson Schwartz (D-13th dist.) helped secure $231,000 for CCP’s Northeast Regional Center, located at 12901 Townsend Road.
The center will use the funds as seed money to provide education, training, services and support for local small businesses.
"The college is appreciative of the efforts of our two congressional leaders," said Stephen M. Curtis, president of CCP.
"The college plans to use the money to expand the services offered at our Northeast Regional Center, especially for small businesses in Northeast Philadelphia."
The expanded business services are in the planning stages. They are part of a larger initiative by CCP to expand the Northeast Regional Center and more closely link it with business training and educational programs offered at the college’s Center for Business and Industry in Center City. ••
