Suspects in ID thefts
busted in Oxford Circle

Two alleged identity thieves from Oxford Circle weren’t satisfied to net several thousand dollars from a few anonymous victims. Rather, they were loading up to go after some of the biggest names in Philadelphia and beyond, police say.
On Friday, Philadelphia police working on the local Postal Task Force raided a home on the 5900 block of Frontenac St. and arrested two suspected thieves.
Quiana McLaughlin, 27, and Andre Holmes, 32, stored the personal information of numerous other people, including many celebrities, on a computer in the home, said Capt. Benjamin Naish, a police spokesman.
The suspects have been charged with forgery, theft and related crimes. Authorities will perform a thorough forensic analysis of the data on the computer before determining how many people they victimized, Naish said.
News reports have said that the machine contained personal information of Donovan McNabb, his mother Wilma, Jennifer Lopez, Paris Hilton, Whitney Houston, Patti LaBelle, Michael Vick and Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen.
Naish did not confirm the identities of any individual victims, but said that authorities don’t believe the suspects carried out thefts involving any of the named celebrities.
However, they did profit in the "thousands" by stealing from non-celebrities via credit card fraud and check forgery, Naish said. The total is subject to change as investigators analyze more computer data. ••
