Its a raid at
the Yik-Yak Club
Pennsylvania State Police liquor enforcement officers raided a Tacony nightclub last week and issued a series of violations related to illegal alcoholic beverage sales and failure to close on time.
The United Independent Italian American Club of the City of Philadelphia, which does business as the Yik-Yak Club, at 7215 Torresdale Ave., holds a private club license that typically would allow it to sell drinks until 3 a.m. and allow patrons to remain on the premises until 3:30 a.m.
But on Thursday, June 28, state Liquor Control Enforcement officers began an "open inspection" of the establishment at 3:45 a.m. and allegedly found that patrons were still able to buy drinks.
Also, at least three underage patrons were consuming alcohol, according to a state police news release. Investigators later issued administrative violations to the club for sales of alcohol after hours, failure to require patrons to vacate premises and sales to minors. Three individual minors were cited for underage drinking and one cited additionally for possessing a false ID and disorderly conduct. The inspection continued until 8:30 a.m. Officers seized $1,089 in cash and all alcoholic beverages on the site.
