Naval depot worker
dies in fall

A civilian financial management analyst at the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP), was found dead Monday morning in a window well approximately 6 to 8 feet deep outside of Building One on the 700 Robbins Ave. campus.
Francis Slivinski, 68, of Rhawnhurst, was sitting up on a wall when he fell backward approximately 10 to 12 feet to his death, according to police.
The building was constructed in 1942 on sloping ground, and parts of the first floor have concrete window wells that vary in depth, according to Margaret Kenyon-Ely, a NAVICP public affairs spokeswoman.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Slivinski had worked at NAVICP for approximately 28 years. The circumstances of his death are under investigation, according to Kenyon-Ely. ••
