Suspect in shooting
death to stand trial
A Parkwood man accused of shooting his roommate to death this month has been ordered to stand trial for murder.
Eric Kadish, 19, of the 3000 block of Fairdale Road, allegedly shot Eric Aberman, 20, in the head at about 2 p.m. on June 13 inside their residence.
After hearing testimony from an alleged witness, Ryan Sweeney, during Kadishs June 20 preliminary hearing, Municipal Court Judge Theresa Carr Deni ordered the defendant held for trial on a third-degree murder charge, said Assistant District Attorney James Berardinelli.
Kadish had been facing a general murder charge, which includes the capital offense of first-degree murder.
Deni set bail for the defendant at $100,000.
Homicide investigators believe that the victim, shooter and witness were inside the Fairdale Road home that afternoon when someone brought out a handgun. As Kadish held the loaded weapon, he allegedly pointed it at Aberman and fired.
There was no known dispute between the men.
