Reckless gunplay
kills Parkwood man
Philadelphia homicide investigators believe that reckless gunplay resulted in the shooting death of a Parkwood man in his home last week.
Officers from the 8th Police District were called to a residence on the 3000 block of Fairdale Road just after 2 p.m. on June 13 in response to a report of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found the victim lying in the living room with a gunshot wound in the head, said Sgt. Ron McClane of the homicide division.
He was identified as Eric Aberman, 20, a resident of the home, and pronounced dead by fire medics at the scene.
Police arrested Abermans roommate, Eric Kadish, 19, at the scene on a murder charge, McClane said. He is held without bail and scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing this week.
Investigators believe that Aberman, Kadish and a third male were inside the home when Kadish pointed the weapon at Aberman and fired.
It is not known if the shooting was accidental, but all three men knew one another, McClane said.
