Bucks County authorities arrested a Northeast Philadelphia resident and substitute schoolteacher last week on charges that he had repeated sexual relations with two underage female students.
Jeffrey Anderson, 23, of the 3200 block of Guilford St. in Mayfair, used the Internet and cell phone text-messaging to communicate with the girls, ages 14 and 15, and to persuade them into sexual relations with him, according to an affidavit of probable cause.
Anderson, a full-time sub at Tohickon Middle School in the Central Bucks School District, has admitted in a 14-page statement to engaging in a series of inappropriate encounters with the girls, the Bucks County District Attorneys Office said.
The electronic communications allegedly began in early April and led to three physical encounters.
On April 20, Anderson allegedly kissed both girls on the mouth in a classroom.
On April 28, he allegedly met both girls at the older ones home, kissed and fondled both girls and engaged in oral sex with the younger victim. No parents were home at the time.
On May 2, he allegedly kissed the younger girl on the mouth in a chorus room at school.
The girls parents learned of the alleged abuse after installing child-protection software on their home computers. The adults found sexually explicit messages allegedly sent by Anderson to the girls via America Online and the facebook.com Web site.
In one April 22 message, Anderson allegedly wrote, "please, please, PLEASE
nothing that is said or done between the three of us can EVER be repeated to anyone else!!! Not your best friend, your diary, or any of those girls at school!! I could get fired, never become a teacher again, or go to jail
dont tell anyone."
In an April 27 message, Anderson allegedly detailed various sexual acts he would perform on the girls, then wrote, "Hah
im so going to hell
I cant believe I hooked up with two 9th graders!!"
The parents contacted police, who pulled Anderson from class on May 7 and questioned him. Anderson admitted to the crimes and later provided the written confession, according to the DA.
The victims confirmed having inappropriate contact with the defendant, the prosecutors office said.
The Central Bucks School District fired Anderson from his teaching post and has declined further comment on the case. Anderson was also banned from a Warrington youth swim club where he was a coach.
Anderson has been charged with six felonies and 15 total crimes, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse (two counts), aggravated indecent assault (two counts), criminal use of a communication facility (two counts), endangering the welfare of children (two counts), corruption of minors (two counts) and indecent assault (five counts).
If convicted, he will be subject to a mandatory minimum five-year prison sentence and possible maximum of more than 100 years.
Anderson, a recent La Salle University graduate, has no prior criminal record and reportedly passed a personal background check before he was hired by the school district in 2005.
He was being held in Bucks County Prison in lieu of $500,000 bail.
