Comcast gets into
the mayoral act

Customers who have Comcast digital cable service can watch interviews "on demand" with seven of the eight mayoral candidates.
The service is provided by the cable giant and CN8. Interviews with the candidates are available 24 hours a day.
Those taking part in the interviews were Republican Al Taubenberger and Democrats Bob Brady, Dwight Evans, Chaka Fattah, Tom Knox, Michael Nutter and Queena Bass. The only candidate who did not accept an invitation to appear was Democrat Jesus White.
The five-minute interviews were conducted and produced by Jen Boyett, host of Comcast Newsmakers. The interviews can be accessed through the On Demand menu in the "Get Local" category by selecting "Candidates on Demand." They are organized by the name of each candidate.
The interviews are also available at www.cn8.tv
Michael Doyle, president of Comcast’s Eastern Division, said the interviews provide substantive information. He believes voters will learn more from the interviews than from short sound bites or television commercials.
Among Comcast customers in Philadelphia, 75 percent have digital cable. The average customer accesses On Demand more than 20 times per month. ••
