SCRAMBLE IS THE WORD
This was sent in by Harris P. of Georgia, a devoted Internet reader of the Northeast Times.
See if you can figure out what all of the following words have in common:
Banana
Dresser
Grammar
Potato
Revive
Uneven
Voodoo
Assess
Are you peeking or have you already given up? Give it another try. Youll kick yourself when you discover the answer. Go back and look at them again; think hard.
OK... Here you go....hope you didnt cheat.....
Wait a minute. Dont give up just yet. Give it another look and remember that first can be last and reverse. Now its too easy.
Answer: In all of the words listed, if you take the first letter, place it at the end of the word and then spell the word backward, it will be the same word. Did you figure it out? Most people dont.
HATS OFF TO A GOOD CAUSE
The Philadelphia Flyers and FedEx ended the season with their first
Hat Tricks for Kids Hat Toss at the Flyers vs. Buffalo Sabres game on April 8.
During the second intermission of the game, fans were encouraged to toss their hats onto the ice "hat trick style" to show support for children battling cancer in oncology units of local Delaware Valley hospitals.
All of the hats were collected and given to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to be distributed to local childrens oncology programs.
The hats were collected from the ice by FedEx employees, members of the Delta Dental Ice team and Flyers staff. At a later date, the Flyers and FedEx will visit with patients at St. Christophers Hospital for Children to deliver some of the hats that were collected at the game.
The
Hat Tricks for Kids Hat Toss is an extension of the Flyers
Hat Tricks for Kids program. Members of the Flyers organization visit local hospitals to show support and distribute Flyers goodies. During the visits, each child receives a Flyers goodie bag, including a Flyers hat and activity book.
HELLO, MR. WILSON
Back in September 2006, I had an opportunity to interview Fred Wilson, an authentic Tuskegee fighter pilot. The column printed on Sept. 21. Believe it or not, I keep in touch with some of the people that I have met through the years. Why? You learn a lot from other nice people.
Anyway, Mr. Wilson sent me an e-mail with some great pictures of the Blue Angels, and I wanted to share them with you. When you are on the Internet, enter this in your search browser:

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
Hey all you KiXX fans. The Philadelphia KiXX defeated the Detroit Ignition 13 to 8 to win the 2007 MISL CHAMPIONSHIP. Unfortunately the game was played in Plymouth, Mich., not in Philadelphia, on April 21; however, I am sure eyes were glued to Versus, a cable station, to see the televised game.
This is the second time they walked away with the MISL championship. The last time was in 2001-02. They definitely deserved this win with all of their hard work. This is one Philadelphia team that succeeded this year and went all the way. KUDOS!!
Some members of the team: Don DAmbra, Peter Pappas, Pat Morris, Shawn Boney, Edgar Bartolomeu, Drew Kopp, and assistant coaches Sam Lee and Adam Bruckner, will receive their second MISL championship rings.
Again, the 2007 Nemours Philadelphia KiXX Summer Kamp program is for boys and girls ages 4 to 14. It starts in late June and runs through the end of August. There are about 40 locations throughout the tri-state area.
In addition to professional instruction from members of the Philadelphia KiXX, each participant in the summer camp program receives a certificate of participation, an official camp T-shirt and soccer ball, a voucher to the 2007-08 KiXX home opener, and a second free ticket to another 2007-08 KiXX home game.
