Police hunt for
murder suspect

The Philadelphia Police Department’s homicide unit is seeking the public’s help in locating a murder suspect who they believe may be staying in the Frankford area.
Aaron Blue, 24, allegedly shot 29-year-old Jared Taylor to death during a melee outside the Empty Glass Bar, at Adams Avenue and Claridge Street in Summerdale, on Feb. 24.
The suspect fled in a white Cadillac and was later identified by witnesses. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Blue on March 12, said Detective Michael Walter of the homicide unit’s fugitive squad. The police department issued a wanted poster on Tuesday.
Police have numerous addresses listed for Blue as a result of a series of prior arrests, including the 1600 block of Bridge St., the 5200 block of Frankford Ave., the 1900 block of Berkshire St., the 5300 block of Lesher St. and the 8200 block of Frankford Ave.
But Blue may have been living recently on an unknown block of Paul Street in Frankford, Walter said.
Detectives believe an argument inside the crowded bar led to the shooting just before 2 a.m. According to witnesses, an argument among females spilled out into the street, with males joining in on the altercation.
At one point, Blue was seen holding a gun and wrestling with Taylor, of the 600 block of Levick St. in Lawndale. When Taylor tried to run away, the suspect allegedly shot him multiple times in the torso. There is no evidence of return gunfire, Walter said.
Taylor died at 2:31 a.m. at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
Authorities will charge Blue with murder and related offenses based on evidence already obtained about the incident. But they need to know where to find the suspect.
Blue is considered armed and dangerous. Informants need not confront him.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call Detectives Michael Walter or Sean Mellon at 215-686-3084 or 3068. Informants can remain anonymous. If no one answers, callers can leave a message. ••
