Shootings kill man,
wound 12-year-old
One man was killed and a 12-year-old girl was wounded in separate shootings in Frankford last week.
On Thursday at around 1:19 a.m., a 37-year-old man was shot in the buttocks on the 4600 block of Penn St. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene at 1:36 a.m.
Police have not released the victims name because theyve been unable to contact his family, according to police. Police have no suspects or motive in the killing.
On Friday about 7 p.m., a 12-year-old girl was injured when gunfire broke out among a group of men on the 1800 block of Wakeling Street in East Frankford. The girl, whose name has not been released, was hit twice in the arm and once in the side. She was taken to St. Christophers Hospital for Children, where she remains in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, said Officer Raul Malviero, a police spokesman.
As the Times went to press on Tuesday, the citys homicide total was at 104.
